Updated Label, Historic Harvest and Summer Celebration Highlight Dunham Cellars’ 30th Anniversary

Walla Walla, WA — Dunham Cellars will commemorate three decades of winemaking in 2025 with an eye toward the future and a toast to its history. The winery debuted an updated label design this spring, marks a milestone planting at Kenny Hill Vineyard this fall, and hosts a 30th anniversary celebration this summer.
Cheers to 30 Years: Celebration Planned for June 28, 2025
All three anniversary highlights reflect Dunham’s enduring commitment to craftsmanship, creativity, and community. To celebrate, Dunham invites family, friends, and supporters to the winery on Saturday evening, June 28, 2025 for a pig roast and live music from 5:30-10pm. Tickets are $50 per person and available here: https://www.dunhamcellars.com/About-Us/Events

Fresh Look for a New Chapter
As Dunham Cellars toasts 30 years, it also unveils two refreshed label designs, beginning with its Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé, introduced this spring. The new floral label for these two wines features artwork by founder Eric Dunham.
Earlier this month, the winery debuted a distinct new look for its Chardonnay, highlighting the winery’s iconic “D.” Dunham red wines will transition to this updated logo design in 2026.
General manager John Blair explains, “As we prepared to celebrate 30 years, it felt like the perfect time to give our labels a fresh new look. Our Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé now have a clean, youthful design that matches their lively, ready-to-enjoy style while also honoring Eric’s creative legacy,” he said. “For our classic label, we stayed true to our roots—evolving the design without losing the identity that has defined Dunham since the beginning.”
Kenny Hill Vineyard Reaches a Milestone
As Dunham refreshes its look above ground, the roots of its future are taking hold at the winery’s estate vineyard, Kenny Hill.
First planted in 2010, Kenny Hill is a 60-acre, south-facing site in Walla Walla Valley’s Mill Creek District, planted predominantly to Chardonnay and red Bordeaux varieties. Its proximity to the Blue Mountains allows for dry farming most years.
Developed in three phases, the vineyard’s final 12 acres were planted in 2022 and will yield their first harvest this fall, completing the winery’s vision for the vineyard. Farmed sustainably with a focus on soil vitality and long-term vine health, Kenny Hill reflects Dunham’s commitment to stewardship and the future of Washington wine.
Carrying the Dunham Legacy Forward
Established in 1995 by Eric Dunham and his parents, Mike and Joanne Dunham, Dunham Cellars was the ninth bonded winery in Walla Walla. Dunham quickly earned a loyal following for Cabernet Sauvignon, such as its 2021 Cabernet that scored 95 points this year by the editors of Washington Tasting Room Magazine.
In 1999, the winery moved operations to the historic Walla Walla Airport District, opening a tasting room known for its eclectic décor and easygoing vibe. In 2004, looking to grow the winery, the Dunhams welcomed David and Cheryll Blair as co-owners, bringing a shared passion for hospitality and longstanding ties to farming. Their son, John Blair, joined the winery in 2011. He became general manager in 2013 and is now a winery co-owner.
“It’s incredible to think how far Dunham Cellars has come from those early days,” said Joanne Dunham, who earned a place on the list of 2025 Women of Washington Wine. “Mike, Eric, and I simply hoped to make wines we were proud of and create a place where people felt at home. Seeing that vision carried forward today by such a passionate team is deeply rewarding.”
