5 Releases From Plumb Cellars

April 11, 2018

Plumb Cellars 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, $42
Editor’s Choice – Outstanding (91-94 pts.)
Lean and focused, with a sultry mix of black raspberry, dark berry and cassis flavors tightly wrapped around a structured core of tobacco, loamy earth, tea leaf and slate. Vivid and expressive, with fine-grained tannins that linger on the cedar-lined finish.

Plumb Cellars 2013 Damn Straight Red Wine, $39
Editor’s Choice – Outstanding (91-94 pts.)
This Cabernet-forward red wine is supple and concentrated, with stellar structure behind the dark fruit flavors of blackberry, raspberry and black plum that are intertwined with tobacco, graphite and savory herbs. Notes of fresh dug earth and firm tannins roll through the rich flavors, lingering on the finish.

Plumb Cellars 2013 Walla Walla Valley Estate Sangiovese, $24
Editor’s Choice – Excellent (88-90 pts.)
Smoothly structured with enticing cherry flavors accented with red currant and dried Italian herbs. Framed with ample acidity, ending with a flickering of white pepper.

Plumb Cellars 2013 Walla Walla Valley Estate Syrah, $28
Editor’s Choice – Excellent (88-90 pts.)
A solid version, co-fermented with a splash of Viognier (3%) that lends a citrusy streak of grapefruit to the broad, meaty flavors of cherry, tar, cured olives and spice notes that meld in unison on the finish.

Plumb Cellars 2013 Plumb Crazy, $18
Editor’s Choice – Recommended (85-87 pts.)
This bold, fruit-forward red wine is a plucky blend of Syrah (55%) and Sangiovese (45%), displaying aromas and flavors of spiced plum, cherry, dark berries, violet and tobacco leaf. Hints of cinnamon and cloves hone in on the finish.
