DeLille Cellars 2016 D2 25th Vintage, $45

December 11, 2018

Always leading with Merlot, this flagship label from DeLille Cellars has been going strong for a quarter century now. This red wine is sourced from 15 vineyards and composed of Merlot (59%), Cabernet Sauvignon (34%), Cabernet Franc (4%), Malbec (2%) and Petit Verdot (1%). The name pays tribute to the scenic road, known as route D2, that runs from along the Medoc peninsula in France’s famed Bordeaux region. You can find DeLille Cellars’ wines in many fine wine outlets or visit their tasting rooms in Woodinville or Kirkland, www.delillecellars.com

DeLille Cellars 2016 D2 25th Vintage, $45
Editor’s Choice – Outstanding (91-94 pts.)
This 25th anniversary edition starts with a plush edge surrounding the sleek and well-structured frame, loaded with a mix of blackberry, dark plum and red currant flavors punctuated with an expressive streak of graphite. Finishes with fine grain tannins and warm spice notes of bay leaf, fennel and sage.
