Col Solare 2011 Red Mountain Red Wine, $75

June 25, 2015

Col-Solare-2011-Red-Mountain-Red-WineCol Solare is a partnership between Washington’s Chateau Ste. Michelle and the 600-year old Antinori wine family of Italy. This 2011 release is the first-ever Red Mountain-designated vintage of its flagship red blend, dominated with Cabernet Sauvignon (77%) and blended with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec.

Nose: Dusky aromas of red and black fruit, currant, cedar, and vanilla shavings.

Taste: Muscular and bold with dense red fruit, blackberry, plum, currants, bright spice and cocoa. Rich tannins persist on the finish.

Recommended pairings: Grilled lamb, duck confit, wild boar ravioli or bacon-
wrapped elk tenderloin.

Editor’s Choice – Outstanding

Production: 2,500 cases

Alcohol: 14.5%
