Lowden, Wash. — April 5, 2016 — There’s few things in this world more satisfying than fabulous pizza and a glass of wine, and Woodward Canyon Winery’s seasonal Reserve House will feature a rotating menu of tantalizing wood-fired pizzas as it launches its 5th lunch season on Friday, May 13th. (Those familiar with Woodward Canyon know the winery’s longtime passion for authentic wood-fired pizza and fresh handmade dough.) Lunches will be Fridays between 11:30 am and 2 pm.

The menu will be intentionally focused on showcasing seasonal, hand-selected produce from Woodward Canyon’s Lazy S Arrow Garden. The Lazy S Arrow Garden was certified organic by Oregon Tilth in 2014 and sits at the base of the Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard, a scant three miles from the winery. A limited amount of fresh dough will be made daily and pizzas will be available until sold out. Woodward Canyon’s wines will be offered by the glass or bottle and will pair wonderfully with the weekly rotating pizza menu.

Sager Small, who begins his second season as Resident Chef and Manager of the Lazy S Arrow Garden, is looking forward to taking the 2016 season in a fresh direction. “Woodward Canyon’s wood-fired pizza has had a cult following for years, and I wanted to find a way to make it accessible for all of our customers. Given our location, pizza lunch at the Reserve House will be a great stop for those out wine tasting and locals alike.” The atmosphere will be casual with outdoor seating in the winery’s flower garden surrounding the tasting room and indoor seating in the Reserve House

In addition to weekly Friday pizza lunches, the Reserve House is expanding its private events program to meet demand for those seeking to book an event. Options will range from coursed meals to receptions with an option for personal wine pairings. Food will be provided to suit each event as desired. The Reserve House will emphasize family style plating to both enhance atmosphere and reflect our commitment to sustainability

This season Sager brings to the Reserve House a clear vision of how he wants to emphasize the relationship of garden and restaurant at the winery. On discussing Woodward Canyon, “We have a rare opportunity to make our own food, grown from our own land, to be enjoyed with our own wine—it’s a transcendent experience!”

The website will be updated in the upcoming weeks to provide more information on both lunches and events. This will include sample menus, Reserve House news and event request forms.
