Williams-Sonoma Selects Walla Walla Winery for Wine Club

September 26, 2014

When sisters Amanda Reynvaan and Angela Garratt (a history major and a lawyer respectively) launched Result of a Crush winery in Walla Walla they were seeking “a label that was fun and playful,” explains Angela Garratt. Their goal was to produce “a great bottle of wine you can bring to a dinner party that won’t cost your entire paycheck to get it,” she says. Williams-Sonoma, one of the nation’s leading catalog retailers of upscale home furnishings and gourmet cookware took notice and has selected the winery to be a part of the company’s highly regarded wine club. The brand is the first Washington State winery to be included in this wine club.

result-of-a-crush-montageAmanda Reynvaan and Angela Garratt are the driving force behind the Reynvaan family’s Result of a Crush winery and are focused on delivering quality wines of distinction at value-driven prices.

The winery is a second project spearheaded by the Reynvaan family, which also owns Reynvaan Family Vineyards (cult wines available only to mailing list members). Amanda and Angela’s brother, Matt Reynvaan, is the consulting winemaker for Result of a Crush.

Result of a Crush’s Syrah-based red wine blends contain juice from declassified barrels of Reynvaan Family wines sourced from the family’s illustrious estate vineyards in The Rocks and Foothills vineyards, both in the Walla Walla Valley appellation, as well as fruit sourced from the Columbia Valley.

If you don’t belong to the Williams-Sonoma wine club, you can taste Result of a Crush wines at their chic tasting room located in downtown Walla Walla.  They currently offer three distinctive releases that all deliver a huge bang for the buck: a Grenache-based Rosé, a 2012 Red Wine, and a 2011 Red Wine that’s a real beauty with chiseled structure on the palate and complex layers of charcoal, pomegranate, watermelon, rutabaga, stony minerality, savory herbs and wet stone (Editor’s choice, featured in the Fall 2014 issue of Tasting Room Magazine).
