Tinte Cellars August Food Drive for Northwest Harvest

August 15, 2022

Seattle, WA — Tinte Cellars is heeding the call to help feed the hungry with their fifth annual August Food Drive for Northwest Harvest.

“During this time of high inflation and soaring food costs, it’s critical that we support our fellow community members facing food insecurity” said Teresa Spellman Gamble, co-owner of Tinte Cellars. “Tinte Cellars is proud to continue our partnership with Northwest Harvest by providing cash and in-kind donations and hosting food drives every August.”

According to Northwest Harvest, more than one million Washington residents visited a food bank in the past year. Northwest Harvest is the leading hunger relief agency in Washington and supports a statewide network of over 300 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools. The agency provides two million meals each month to those in need.

Food insecurity is a significant concern in Washington, and Tinte Cellars is recommitting to this vital food drive for August. As with past years, Tinte Cellars is teaming with local high school students to support those in need during their annual Back-To-School Food Drive.

Donations to Date
To date, Tinte Cellars and student food drives have provided more than 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food donations and more than $17,500 in cash donations to Northwest Harvest.

About Tinte Cellars
Tinte Cellars was founded in 2018 by co-owners and husband and wife team, Tim Gamble and Teresa Spellman Gamble.

Community, volunteerism, and philanthropy formed the foundation of Tim and Teresa’s upbringings; their culture. When they established Tinte Cellars, the business needed to reflect those values and their desire to leave the world better than they found it.

Each year, Tinte Cellars selects a few nonprofit organizations to receive a portion of all wine sales (right off the top).

Five percent of all retail sales and 10% of all wine club sales are split equally between area non-profits each year. In 2022 these charities are: Mary’s Place, Northwest Harvest, Seattle Children’s Behavioral Health Crisis Care Clinic, and the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. In addition, Tinte Cellars invests in a wide range of programs and activities to enable their customers, employees, and partners to amplify their own positive impact on the world. Since its inception, Tinte’s philanthropic commitment of cash and in-kind donations to local non-profits has exceeded $850,000.
