Taste Washington 2014: Drink, Eat, Learn

Taste Washington is billed as the nation’s largest single-region wine and food event. Held at CenturyLink Field Event Center on March 29-30, 2014, get set for a gastronomic weekend of wine tasting, gourmet food bites, chefs on display, and informational seminars with a focus on Washington State’s array of wine varietals and culinary delights. New this year is a kick-off event, The First Annual Taste Washington Magnum Party on March 27th at the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit at the Seattle Center.

Drink: On both Saturday, March 29th and Sunday, March 30th, the Grand Taste at CenturyLink Field Event Center offers a chance to taste wines for over 232 wineries, as well as featured vineyards. Come taste your favorites and experience new ones too. Click here for an A to Z list.

Eat: Seattle is home to unique culinary experiences, 13 James Beard Award-winning chefs and hundreds of amazing restaurants. Taste Washington! has selected local restaurants to represent the Seattle culinary scene and to pair with your Washington wine. Enjoy gourmet food bites from 71 restaurants. Learn: Taste Washington weekend features seminars on both Saturday and Sunday also held at CenturyLink Field Event Center. These sessions are led by top national experts and sommeliers and are an entertaining and educational way to kick off your Grand Tasting experience. A sampling of seminars are:
A Winemaker, a Brewer and a Distiller Walk Into a Bar, Northstar Blending Experience, Playing Matchmaker – Pairing Food & Wine to Your Palate, Chef vs. Somm Smack Down, The Allure of the Exotic, The Rise of the Rhones, An Old Vine’s Tale, and Washington vs. The World – 2014. Tickets: Choose from General Admission tickets and VIP tickets (limited). General admission tickets are available for both Saturday and Sunday from 2-5pm. One day tickets are $80 and two-day tickets are $125. VIP tickets are limited and available both days from 1-5pm. One day VIP tickets are $145 and two-day tickets are $185.
