Summer Concerts Under The Stars At Olympic Cellars Winery

June 2, 2014

The renovated century-old barn at Olympic Cellars Winery in Port Angeles, Wash. is home to the Olympic Peninsula’s happening summer concert scene on Saturday nights during July and August.  Each concert benefits a local non-profit group, so wine fans can feel good about helping the community while kicking up their heels to live music under the stars.

All concerts start at 7pm (except for July 12, 2014, which starts at 4:30pm). Arrive an hour early for best seating or bring your favorite lawn chair. Local restaurants or catering companies will be present for each concert with food available for purchase. The cover charge is $13 in advance or $15 at the door, and half of all the proceeds will be donated to a non-profit. Or you can purchase a Season Pass for admission to all seven 2014 summer concerts for $75.  Regular advance tickets available online at Brown Paper Tickets (search for “Olympic Cellars”).

Here’s the full lineup of talent for the 2014 season:

July 12, 2014 – Cort Armstrong’s chicken pickin’ guitar, rusty singing, and vintage songwriting is a throwback to the music of the Southern Appalachians. His music carries influences of country blues, fiddle tunes, square dances, honky-tonks; anything that shook the floors of old mountain grange halls and parties. July 26, 2014 – The Senate has won opening slots for Everclear, the Paperboys, Vicci Martinez, and Handful of Luvin.
With powerful walls of sound built by only two acoustic guitars, an upright bass, and three voices, The Senate’s catchy compostitions, tight arrangements, and unorthodox instrumental techniques create a dynamic musical hybrid that continues to push the boundaries of acoustic instrumentation.
