Revelry on Red Mountain at Col Solare Winery Features 20 Area Wineries

April 27, 2011

Now in its third year, the Revelry on Red Mountain event (hosted by the Auction of Washington Wines) pairs 20 notable winemakers and their wines – all made with grapes sourced from Red Mountain – with a culinary feast of hearty appetizers and savory buffet-style dishes.

ABOVE: The Revelry on Red Mountain event is a chance to try wines made with fruit from Red Mountain AVA paired with gourmet foods in this beautiful setting at Col Solare Winery.

The 2011 event takes place from 6-9:30pm on Saturday, May 28, 2011 during Memorial Day Weekend (almost a month earlier than last year’s June event) on the stunning terrace of Col Solare in Benton City, where guests can watch the beautiful sunset over the Horse Heaven Hills and Yakima Valley while bidding on silent and live auction items to benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Washington Wine Education Foundation.

Tickets to Revelry on Red Mountain are $95 per person and can be purchased here. Col Solare is located at 50207Antinori Road in Benton City, a short taxi or limo ride away from each of the participating hotels.  Transportation is not included in the package price. Because the event occurs during a long holiday weekend, seven Tri-Cities area hotels, including the Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn and others will provide special rates for Revelry on Red Mountain visitors looking to make a weekend getaway of it.

“Red Mountain and the Tri-Cities area is the epicenter of Washington Wine Country and Revelry on Red Mountain is a celebration of the best the region has to offer,” said Kris Watkins president & CEO at Tri-Cities Visitor & Convention Bureau. “We are thrilled that our local inns and hotels are making this renowned event even more accessible to guests from around the Pacific Northwest.”

Friendly rates range from $79-$139 per night and many also include breakfast and bottle of local wine.  For details and booking information, check out this website.

Guests will have an opportunity to sample tastes of wines poured by this year’s participating vintners: Andrew Will Winery, Bookwalter Winery, Col Solare, Cooper Wine Company, Corvus Cellars, Fidelitas, Gamache Vintners, Goedhart Family, Grand Reve Vintners, Hedges Family Estate, Hightower Cellars, Kiona Winery, Mark Ryan Winery, Obelisco, Portrait Cellars, Quilceda Creek, Seven Hills Winery, Tapteil Estate, Terra Blanca Winery & Estate.

The chef and owner of Picazo 7Seventeen restaurant, Frank Magana, will be serving savory accompaniments to the notable wines being poured.
