O Wines releases new red blend in 2010

January 1, 2010

With the success of their Chardonnay, O Wines has announced the release of their first red blend on a limited basis in January 2010.  It is a Columbia Valley blend of Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese that will retail for $14.99.  But wine is not the only success story behind O Wines.

In the two short years since Kathy Johanson and Stacy Lill first launched the winery they have helped fund 29 college scholarships for young women in Washington State with donations taken from the profits of every bottle sold.  Their business model is built around creating “opportunity” (thus, the name O Wines) for low-income students with high potential.

“So far we are happy to report that we are able to continue increasing the amount we are able to donate,” said Stacy Lill.  “Not only do we provide the financial support to our scholarship recipients but we offer a mentorship program so that each student has a mentor by their side for the years they are in college.  This provides more stability and a greater chance for their success.”  For more info, go to www.owines.com.
