Maryhill Winery Gains Widespread Recognition For Its Vineyard Series Wines & Expanding Portfolio

January 28, 2014

Goldendale, WA (January 28, 2013) – Maryhill Winery broke all their own records for winning wine awards in 2013. The tenth largest Washington winery earned 300-plus awards, nearly 70 of which were platinum, double gold or gold medals. With the growing popularity of Washington wine nationwide, and the release of the winery’s unique The Vineyards wine series, Maryhill continues to showcase its leadership in the creation of complex, yet approachable wines.

Maryhill wines took home top scores from leading competitions, such as Seattle Wine Awards, Indy International and Wine Press Northwest’s Platinum Judging, and continues to rank among Tasting Room Magazine’s Top Wine Picks. Of the more than 30 different varietals offered by Maryhill, here are few of the top award-winning wines from 2013 competitions:

“Washington grapes are some of the finest I have worked with and the state’s wines are leaving their mark at international competitions,” said Richard Batchelor, winemaker at Maryhill. “We work hard to showcase the diversity and quality available in Washington and are proud that our wines – and Washington wines in general – have earned widespread recognition this past year.”

The Vineyards series added ten new wine options to Maryhill’s already impressive portfolio of blends and single varietals in 2013, with 15 additional varietals never before made at Maryhill to be produced in 2014. Each new wine pays tribute to the area’s top vineyards, and the new series helped push Maryhill past the 2,000 award-win milestone.

“Last year was exceptional for our wines and we are incredibly honored to receive recognition of this magnitude,” concludes Craig Leuthold, owner of Maryhill Winery. “Stay tuned. There is more to come.”
