Taste Washington’s Grand Tasting is the nation’s largest single-region wine and food event

January 7, 2016 — Taste Washington, the country’s largest single-region wine and food event, returns to Seattle with a premier lineup of events happening March 31 – April 3, 2016. Culminating in a Grand Tasting featuring over 225 Washington wineries, other events include an exclusive Red & White Party, thought-provoking seminars, farm excursions, and The New Vintage tasting.  Tickets on sale now.

Taste Washington features educational wine seminars at the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3. Led by top national wine personalities, sommeliers and producers, the topics range from tastings to interactive panels. Seminars offered Saturday, April 2:

Washington vs. the World 2016: Blind taste test Washington Rhône-style wines and find out how they stack up against the best in the world.

Tasting Washington: Exploring what Washington wine tastes like and why: Explore why people often say that certain wine “tastes like Washington” and see if we can nail down exactly what those factors are that make the state’s wines so distinct and memorable.

King Cab! An exploration of Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon: Learn about the nuances of Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon while sampling a selection of top wines from around the state.

Seminars offered Sunday, April 3:

A Sense of Place: The role of vines and man in the vineyard: Take a deep dive to the root of vineyard influence vs. winemaker influence with some of Washington’s finest winemakers who are making very different wines from the same vineyards.

Through the Grapevine: Lessons learned from a lifetime in Washington wine: Tap into the knowledge of esteemed elder statespeople, learn how the industry has evolved, hear what lessons they’ve gleaned in their journeys, and taste some of the most-prized fruits of their labors.

Riesling on the Rise: Jump headfirst into the world of Washington Riesling and find out what makes the wines so distinct and why they’re snapping up more and more fans every day.
