Auction of Washington Wines “2010 Wine Odyssey” Tickets Now On Sale

The 23rd annual Auction of Washington Wines, themed “A Wine Odyssey” for 2010, promises to be a dynamic weekend filled with award-winning wines and gourmet food, all for a great cause.

And it is indeed an odyssey into the exciting world of Washington wine.  During the three-day schedule of events from August 19 through August 21, 2010, attendees will have the opportunity to sample and buy incredible, world-class wines, enjoy delectable gourmet meals prepared by celebrated chefs, and wine and dine with some of Washington State’s finest winemakers.

Every year, two Washington wine industry leaders are recognized for distinguished achievement.  Dr. Wade Wolfe of Thurston Wolfe is the 2010 Honorary Grower and Rob Griffin of Barnard Griffin is the 2010 Honorary Vintner.

Proceeds raised from the Auction of Washington Wine events benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Washington Wine Education Foundation.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, 2010 – Barrel Auction & Picnic with the Winemakers – 4 pm until dusk – Chateau Ste. Michelle, Woodinville, WA

Enjoy Washington wines and meet the winemakers.  Feast on the perfect summer picnic fare prepared by the talented chefs from Tulalip Resort Casino. Bid on limited release wines from top Washington wineries on the Barrel Auction.  Win fabulous wines and more on the silent auction.

EARLY BIRD Tickets are $125 per person; AFTER July 15 – $150.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 20, 2010 – Winemaker Dinners – 6:30 pm – Held at various private estates and wineries

Winemaker dinners take place on Friday, August 20. Patrons are invited into some of Seattle’s finest private estates and wineries to dine with Washington winemakers and experience a gourmet meal prepared by a notable guest chef.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 21, 2010 – “Covey Run” 10K and 5K Run/Walk and Kids Dash – 8 am – Start and Finish at Red Hook Brewery, Woodinville, WA

The popular Covey Run 10K race and 5K Run/Walk winds through the streets of Woodinville wine country. All races are open to all ages. Participants are encouraged to form teams now to raise pledge money for Seattle Children’s Hospital.  Register online.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 21, 2010 – 2010 – A Wine Odyssey – Gala Auction, Saturday, August 21
4:30 pm – Chateau Ste. Michelle, Woodinville, WA

The Black-tie Gala Auction will be held on the grounds of Chateau Ste. Michelle.  Dynamic auctioneer, David Reynolds, will host the bidding on a great line-up of live auction lots. The menu will be prepared by world-renowned chefs and accompanied by an impressive selection of Washington wines. Brian Nova Orchestra will entertain from center stage and provide the perfect accompaniment for post auction dancing in the festive tent.

Tickets for the Black-tie Gala Auction start at $500 per person.  Weekend and corporate packages are available.
