16 Woodinville Wineries Participate In ‘Toll-Free Tasting’ Program for Seattle Residents This October

October 7, 2013

Woodinville, WA — There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but Woodinville Wine Country will more than cover the cost of Seattle wine enthusiasts’ 520-crossing fee under its new “Toll-Free Tasting” program that debuts Saturday, October 5, 2013 and continues each Saturday through October. Woodinville Wine Country will cover visitors’ bridge toll by offering a 2-for-1 tasting pass to Seattle area residents who start their day in Woodinville at Columbia Winery and request the “Toll-Free Tasting” voucher honored at 16 Woodinville wineries from 12-5 pm any Saturday in October.

The new promotion is the latest in a series of Woodinville Wine Country programs aimed at highlighting Woodinville’s world-class wines within Western Washington’s easy reach. Conveniently located 25 minutes northeast of downtown Seattle, Woodinville is home to almost 100 Washington wineries and tasting rooms. In June, the organization debuted Woodinville “ZIP,” a program offering purchase discounts and complimentary wine tastings to locals residing in Woodinville ZIP codes 98072, 98052 and 98077.

“With the grape harvest in full-swing, October is the perfect season to visit Woodinville Wine Country,” says the association’s director Sandra Lee.  “Many of the wineries are crushing grapes on Saturdays in October and excitement surrounding the new vintage carries over into the tasting rooms. It’s ‘go-time’ around here,” she says.

Wineries participating in the toll-free tasting program include Auclair, Castillo de Feliciana, Columbia Winery, Convergence Zone Cellars, Cullin Hills, Davenport Cellars, Efesté, Forgeron Cellars, Gard Vintners, Lauren Ashton, Patterson Cellars, Piccola, Pondera Winery, Smasne Cellars, William Church and Woodinville Wine Cellars. Visitors need to begin their tasting at Columbia Winery, 14030 NE 145th, Woodinville to request their pass.
