7 Bainbridge Island Wineries Open Their Doors For ‘Wine on the Rock’ Weekend July 23-24, 2016

July 13, 2016

Bainbridge Island, Wash. – On the weekend of July 23 and 24, 2016, all seven boutique wineries on beautiful Bainbridge Island will be celebrating summer with an unforgettable wine, music and food event, the first tasting event of this magnitude on the island. The event will take place at each individual winery from 12-5pm Saturday and Sunday.  $30 ticket purchase is good for both days (one visit at each winery) and includes:

• Special event wine glass
• Wine tasting at each of the seven wineries
• Food bites to complement the wine tasting
• Live music at each winery

Taste at all seven wineries and get entered into a drawing for a chance to win a gourmet wine basket or free wine tastings on a return visit. Tickets can be purchased at: https://wineontherocksummer.eventbrite.com

Editor’s note: Event will not take place at any of the downtown Winslow Way tasting rooms; event is happening at the wineries only. While there will be food bites at each winery, you may want to bring a picnic or stop for lunch for a more substantial meal. Certain wineries have cheese or charcuterie plates and other small snacks for purchase.

“While Bainbridge Island is home to seven great wineries, most established 10+ years ago, many wine consumers in Seattle and on the Island don’t even know we are here”, says Jim Wilford, wine maker and owner at Fletcher Bay Winery.

Wine on the Rock is unique in that all seven Bainbridge Island wineries will be open on the same weekend, during the same hours. Many are not open every weekend or are by appointment only. This event will be an opportunity for someone to visit all the wineries in one weekend and experience the best of Bainbridge Island wines. Each winery is unique and offers a distinct tasting experience. Two of the wineries grow their own grapes – Perennial Vintners and Bainbridge Vineyards. Bainbridge Vineyards produces 100% organic estate grown wines resulting in unique varieties that thrive in our cool, maritime climate. The island wineries also offer a unique opportunity to meet the winemaker who will likely be pouring your wine for you.

“Wine on the Rock is the first of many all winery events in the works. We’re hoping to raise awareness of Bainbridge Island wines and attract wine lovers from the Seattle and the Kitsap County area”, says Brooke Huffman, marketing manager for the Winery Alliance of Bainbridge Island. “We want people to think of Bainbridge Island as a wine destination worth the visit.”
