Throughout September and October 2010, wine lovers in Washington State can save big on their favorite Washington wines, and discover some new favorites as well. More than 70 Washington restaurants, over 50 winery tasting rooms and 9 retail stores are participating in the “World-Class Wine in Your Own Backyard” promotion, which offers savings of up to 50% on bottles of Washington wine. Consumers can download and print the World-Class Value Pass from www.washingtonwine.org/backyard and use it to save on Washington wines as many times as they like for the next two months. A mobile version of the site also allows smart phone users to download and use the pass on their mobile devices.

“We are excited to continue our longstanding partnership with the Washington State Wine Commission and participate in the ‘World-Class Wine in Your Own Backyard’ promotion,” said Erik Segelbaum, Wine Director for all three Daniel’s Broiler restaurants. “During September and October, Chandler’s Crabhouse; Daniel’s Broiler in Bellevue Place, on South Lake Union, and in Leschi; and Spazzo Italian Grill & Wine Bar in the Redmond Town Center are all offering 20% off any Washington wine bottles priced $80 or higher, 7 Days a week. We hope this offer will encourage our guests to expand their palates and discover the diversity and quality of Washington State wines.”

Other promotions include 20% off a bottle of Washington wine at Wild Ginger in Seattle and Bellevue, 50% off a bottle of wine with dinner on Mondays at ART Restaurant and Lounge in the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle, a free wine tasting for two at Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville (a $20 value) and 20% off all wine purchased at the winery, and 15% off Washington wine at renowned Seattle wine shops McCarthy & Schiering Wine Merchants and Pike & Western Wine Shop. More than 40 of the participating restaurants are also involved in Seattle Restaurant Week, which takes place from October 17 – 28. These restaurants will offer diners a three-course dinner for only $25, with some also offering three-course lunches for $15. Many “World-Class Wine in Your Own Backyard” participating restaurants will be combining this three-course meal with special offers on Washington wine for World-Class Value Pass holders.
